If You Don’t Have This You’re Killing Your Etsy Shop’s Image
On first impression, what does your shop say about you?
Does it give the right message, or maybe no message at all?
Are you unintentionally killing your shops image by not even having an image?
Get Your Shop Logo
It’s not just about making your business look pretty.
Having a logo and banner for your Etsy Shop is important for brand recognition and laying down your shop’s professional image.
In a highly competitive marketplace like Etsy, having a professional “brand friendly” logo is vital.
Get ‘Er Done
There’s a wide variety of ways you can go about getting your logo done.
1. You can make a request on Etsy Alchemy.
2. You can contact your favorite Etsy graphic designer directly. Check out swiekysiggies, sandrabusta or quarterpast6. Expect to pay around $60-$90.
3. You can get a friend to do it for you or you can do it yourself. I don’t recommend this, because what comes out is usually less-than professional unless you or your friend is a graphic designer by trade.

My Preferred Low-Cost, High-Value Method: Graphics Contests
The reason why I like graphic design contests over all others is you can pick and choose what you like from a wide variety of graphic designers. They bring to the table their own graphic styles and will usually come up with something you like better than what you originally had in mind.
My favorite place to run graphic design contests is on Webmaster Talk.
You’ll need 20 posts to create your thread on this forum, but it shouldn’t take you too long to rack up that many posts in the general forums as a new member.
“Unprofessional” Is Just a Nice Way of Saying Ugly
No matter which path you take, make sure your logo is good!
Ask friends and family on their opinions before you use it. This will give you a second opinion, and make sure they’re being honest!
Some Examples of Great Banners and Logos
This new bath and body shop, Flourish, not only has their sleek logo on their banner, but they are also packaging all their products with it. Branding genius at its finest! Watch out for these guys.
The Button Shop opts for a smaller banner which sets them apart from the rest. I really like the look of it also.

I totally agree. Not having a professional looking for ones Etsy shop logo is akin to walking into a rundown shack or generic storefront with a botique inside. Would you trust the goods or are they as carelessly made as the store itself?
There is another way to make a great looking banner for an Etsy shop, and that’s with Flickr. Any photo hosted on Flickr can be edited into a banner. I posted a tutorial about how to do this on my site under the “Flickr” category.
Makes a decent looking banner with little effort and zero cost. At least it’s another good starting point until the business grows and you are ready to spend some money on a professionally designed one.
Greatings, http://www.etsuccess.com – da best. Keep it going!
